THE FAIR'N GREEN CERTIFICATE FOR PARTNERS
FAIR'N GREEN
Certified Partner
This extension to upstream and downstream partners in the value chain emphasises Fair and Green e. V.’s holistic approach to sustainability.
The ecological footprint,
the management of the company social commitment and the entire value chain of a company is analysed in the certification process. The three pillars of sustainability – economy, ecology and social responsibility – form the foundation of every certification.
The FAIR’N GREEN certificate also commits all members to continuous further development.. The aim is to achieve comprehensive networking between the value adding partners and the agricultural businesses.
SPECIALISED WINE TRADE
Sustainability from the vine to the table
The FAIR’N GREEN specialist retail initiative was launched in November 2020 with the aim of pooling commitment to sustainability in the specialist wine trade and positioning themselves more strongly on the market.
Specialist wine retailers can thus become certified as “FAIR’N GREEN Certified Partners” and communicate their commitment to sustainability to the outside world. Close relationships with the wineries, attractive working conditions for employees, comprehensive wine knowledge and expert advice are just some of the aspects that characterise certified sustainable specialist retailers. This expertise is the foundation for many years of successful business management and must be comprehensively proven in the FAIR’N GREEN partner certification.
Sustainability criteria in specialised retail
Energy efficiency, resource minimisation, social commitment, the use of sustainable materials and the reduction of
CO2 emissions are recorded. The specialist wine shops
are continuously expanding their range of ecologically and sustainably certified wines.
The network of specialised wine shops continues to grow. The FAIR’N GREEN Certified Partner certificate offers customers important guidance and decisive impulses for their choice of consumption.
Specialist wine shops that have already joined the initiative range from East Frisia to Munich.

OUR
process
“I consider it necessary for everyone to do something for the environment. Climate change is changing our world and our existence. And we have to act –
in responsibility for future generations.”
Christian Löw, LöwWeine
A customised catalogue of criteria has been developed
for the testing and certification of label printers.
This means that downstream partners in the value chain
chain are successively included in the sustainability endeavours of Fair and Green e. V.
and made visible to consumers by means of the FAIR’N GREEN Certified Partner
certificate.
To this end, the entire printing process and the associated aspects are examined in detail and analysed with regard to sustainable improvement.
This includes, for example, the use of sustainably certified substrates (e.g. FSC paper), the use of mineral oil-free inks
and the recycling of waste generated during production.
The first certified partner is the Vollherbst label printing company from Endingen am Kaiserstuhl.

CLOSURE SYSTEMS
Corks
The FAIR’N GREEN partner certification is fundamental in the endeavour to make the entire wine industry sustainable and to meet the increasing demand for sustainable products. An industry-specific catalogue of criteria has been developed for cork processing in the field of closure systems.
Amorim Cork Germany was the first company to receive the FAIR’N GREEN sustainability certificate for closure systems in 2023. The Fair and Green e. V. association is thus further expanding its network within the value chain.
Aspects such as quality controlcommitment to future-oriented investments of the company and commitment to research and development of innovative products are taken into account for the certification of cork processing.
