Würtzberg Winery
The Würtzberg winery is the first winery on the Saar and is now run by siblings Annalena and Felix Heimes. Inaugurated in 1905, the neo-renaissance-style winery building and the surrounding area are listed as the “Würtzberg Monument Zone”. Perched high above the Saar, it not only offers the wine-growing business premises and the Heimes family a home, but also offers tourists the opportunity to get to know the unique ensemble better with a vacation apartment.
In addition to Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Auxerrois are cultivated on around 17 hectares on the family estate. A large part of the vineyard area is made up of traditional steep and steeply sloping sites, including world-famous top sites such as Ockfener Bockstein, Serriger Herrenberg and Serriger Würtzberg.
“The objectives of FAIR’N GREEN are fully in line with our values and goals and help us to meet our high expectations even better. We are proud to be a member of Fair and Green e. V. and look forward to exchanging ideas with like-minded people.”

Philosophy
The Heimes siblings have high standards for their work and produce authentic wines that reflect their origins with a great deal of craftsmanship and passion. Sustainability and a focus on quality are the cornerstones of their work, so that traditional working methods and modern technology go hand in hand. For example, all wines are fermented spontaneously with the natural yeasts found on the grapes – in wooden barrels or stainless steel tanks, depending on the planned style.
Due to its cultural and historical significance, the Würtzberg winery is an ideal venue for events such as the SaarRieslingSommer, farm festivals and an annual Christmas market. In addition, the winery offers private groups, clubs and companies not only wine tastings with cellar tours, but also vineyard tours that give an idea of what it means to work such steep vineyards by hand on a daily basis.
