Winery Zum Sternen
The “Zum Sternen” winery in Aargau has a long history dating back to the 13th century and has been run by the Meier family for many generations. They run the most renowned and largest vine nursery in Switzerland on the estate and on the vineyards of the winery. The Meier vine nursery (young vine production) with its own selection and trial system supplies all Swiss wine-growing regions and neighboring countries with young vines.
The “Zum Sternen” winery only produces its own grapes. In the geologically diverse and climatically favored lower Aare valley, the various terroirs offer the classic grape varieties the chance to grow in ideal soil. Visitors can get to know over 200 grape varieties from all over the world in the winery’s vineyard.

The Zum Sternen winery follows a natural viticulture approach that focuses on quality rather than quantity. The number of shoots per vine is therefore limited at an early stage.
The Zum Sternen winery also pursues a sustainable, ecological approach to plant protection. It uses forecasting models to reduce the use of pesticides to an absolute minimum.
