Winery von Hoevel
The von Hövel winery is located in Konz-Oberemmel and has a very special history: the son of the Trier merchant and deputy mayor Emmerich Grach inherited the Maximinerhofgut winery in Oberemmel in 1826. He in turn bequeathed the estate to his grandson-in-law, the forester Balduin von Hoevel. In the 1950s, Irmgard and Friedrich von Kunow bought the von Hoevel estate. The Kunows are in turn descendants of Emmerich Grach. In 2010, the Kunows’ son, Maximilian von Kunow, took over the management of the winery and is now the seventh generation to run the traditional winery. On the 21.5 hectares of vineyards, mainly Riesling and partly Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir are cultivated on slate-rich soils.

Philosophy
Being a winemaker means being an artist, a farmer, a philosopher, a salesman, a craftsman and a business economist. This is a challenge for which a great deal of experience in all areas is extremely important.
