The Thomas Leithner winery is located in Langenlois in the Kamptal in Austria and is a traditional family business that cultivates both red and white grape varieties. Stylistically, the focus is on character wines that reflect their origin. The business is currently managed by Thomas Leithner, his son works at the winery and the next generation is already in the starting blocks.
The winery currently cultivates just over ten hectares of vineyards, with the most important grape varieties being Grüner Veltliner, Riesling and, of course, Zweigelt. The aim of the winery is to produce terroir-driven, powerful and authentic wines from grape varieties typical of the region, which have a long shelf life. A large part of the production is sold abroad, as the wine style is becoming increasingly popular there.
“Comprehensive sustainability, which goes far beyond the use of sprays and cellar work, in order to preserve what 10 generations have produced and to be able to pass it on to the next generation, has always been our ambition. We were looking for a concept that demands practical relevance, resource conservation and further development. With FAIR’N GREEN, we have found a certificate that corresponds to our idea of viticulture.”

For generations, the Thomas Leithner winery has worked according to the principle of striving for comprehensive sustainability in viticulture. This is the only way to pass on the best possible experience and practical knowledge, as well as natural resources, to future generations.
