Winery Neiss
The Neiss winery has been run by Ludi Neiss in Kindenheim since 1959, first alone and later with his wife Christine. In the seventies, they switched completely to viticulture and dedicated themselves to tending the vineyards. In 1997, son Axel Neiss, now in the fifth generation, took over the winery. Wine is currently produced on 47 hectares. Mainly Burgundy and Riesling are cultivated. The soil is characterized by an above-average lime content, which is a special feature.

Philosophy:
Bringing uncompromising, quality-oriented work in the vineyard and cellar to the bottle in order to manifest a distinctiveness for his customers is what drives Axel Neiss time and again. The pursuit of the best wine is his motivation.
At the same time, sustainable management has always been very important to the Neiss winegrowing family. In the mid-1990s, the winery switched to controlled, environmentally friendly viticulture.
As one of ten founding members of FAIR and GREEN e. V., the Neiss winery demonstrates its commitment to concrete measures and continuous improvement processes in viticulture.
Since 2021, it has also been one of the few wineries in Germany to be certified CO2-neutral via “Save Climate”, the climate protection initiative of FAIR and GREEN e. V.
