Winery Mario Zelt
The Zelt winery has been run by Mario since the mid-1990s with the aim of producing high-quality wines. The estate currently cultivates 15.3 hectares.
To increase the quality level, both classic local and international grapes are cultivated in the vineyards, including the Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir varieties.
The wines are based on a combination of tradition and modern practice. The young winemaker’s aim is to produce wines that reflect the character of the sites. The vineyard’s soils are mostly limestone, some of which have a loess layer.

The winery loves culture, enjoyment and conviviality. When people visit their winery, they can immerse themselves in what is happening. They want to keep access to their wines simple and this includes responsible handling of the vineyards, an open door at the cellar and tasting the wine together.
For the winery, sustainability is a process that involves improving year on year and constantly learning, finding new potential savings and trying out new approaches.
