The Leonhard Zeter winery from Neustadt/Diedesfeld in the Palatinate lies at the foot of Hambach Castle. Viticulture has been part of the Zeter family for generations and the Leonhard Zeter winery was founded in 1860. In the family business, everyone has their own tasks and we work together to produce ever better wines. Conservation of resources in the vineyard and patience and instinct in the cellar are the cornerstones on which everyone works. The commitment was honoured with the 1st grape, which the Leonhard Zeter winery received from Gault Millau in 2019.
The vines of the Leonhard Zeter estate grow on around 14 hectares of vineyards, mainly on red sandstone and loess loam. One of the estate’s best sites is the “Diedesfelder Paradies”, where a top Riesling with ripening potential is grown. Burgundy, Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc can be found on the “Diedesfelder Berg”.
“We have been avoiding the use of herbicides and mineral fertilisers for years and want to make our entire grape cultivation and winemaking process as environmentally friendly and natural as possible in future. FAIR’N GREEN is helping us to do this better and better. The exchange, the new input and also the recognition of our work to date motivate us and will help us move forward over the years.”

Manual labour and respect for nature have always played an important role at the Leonhard Zeter winery. The soils are carefully cultivated and the vines intensively tended. The Leonhard Zeter winery has refrained from using herbicides and mineral fertilisers for years and would like to continue to make its entire grape cultivation and winemaking as environmentally friendly and natural as possible in the future.
The yields are deliberately kept low and the fully ripe grapes are then carefully processed.
