With just a few square metres of vineyards, Andreas Adam took over his grandfather’s winery in Dhron in 2000, which had been closed in the meantime.
Today, Andreas and his sister Barbara run the A. J. Adam winery with
6.5 hectares of vineyards in the steep slopes of Dhroner Hofberg, Piesporter Goldtröpfchen, Wintricher Ohligsberg and the monopole Dhroner Häs’chen.
Riesling vines (90% Riesling, 10% Pinot Noir) grow predominantly on slate soils interspersed with iron oxide and quartzite inclusions. Some plots are planted with ungrafted vines up to 110 years old. The vineyards are cultivated in a near-natural way to produce mineral, dry or delicately fruity wines, which are matured spontaneously in old wooden barrels or in stainless steel.
‘Working in harmony with nature is our passion. With FAIR’N GREEN, we are confident that we have a strong partner at our side to further optimise the responsibility of sustainable viticulture and incorporate new aspects into our working methods.’

Our roots lie in the small Moselle village of Dhron, those of our families as well as those of our vines. How much this is really worth only really became clear when we moved out to learn new and innovative things in viticulture studies and from renowned winegrowers. Back at home, all this knowledge is now combined day by day in loving and respectful detail work in harmony with nature from our valuable slate steep slopes – and is moulded into authentic terroir wines,
which, with their different site characters, give each wine its own identity.
