The Dr. Thanisch – Witwe Erben Müller Burggraef winery is located on the Moselle in Bernkastel-Kues. The history of the winery dates back to the 19th century. Since then, the estate has grown mainly Rieslings on steep slopes on a total vineyard area of 14.25 hectares. The special character of the wines is characterized by slate soils. Maximilian Ferger is responsible for managing the winery. He has been working at the Dr. Thanisch Erben Müller Burggraef winery since 2008, where he produces not only top Rieslings but also Pinot Noirs.
“At FAIR’N GREEN, we were impressed by the holistic concept. Not only the aspect of sustainability in the vineyard is taken into account in the assessment, but also the respect that is shown to nature and the human environment in general. I see FAIR’N GREEN as an important, additional building block for preserving our cultural landscape for future generations together with organic viticulture, to which we have also committed ourselves.”
– Barbara Rundquist-Müller, Owner

Maximilian Ferger focuses on the careful cultivation of individual top-quality plants with flair and finesse. This also includes the vision of working sustainably and ecologically.
He pays particular attention to the care of the soil and vines and consciously pays attention to low yields per hectare. “When harvesting, we decide on physiological ripeness and not on must weight. This is where the quality of our wines lies, because only physiological ripeness guarantees fully mature aromas.”
