The Dönnhoff winery in Oberhausen on the Nahe is run jointly by Helmut and Cornelius Dönnhoff. The first records of the Dönnhoff family date back to 1761.
Mainly Riesling is cultivated on around 45 hectares of vineyards, as well as Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris. The vineyard’s soils are located on sandstone, weathered slate and weathered volcanic rock (porphyry and melaphyre).
‘We are convinced by this holistic sustainability concept. We know our historical roots and we bear responsibility for the landscape, the landscape and wine culture and therefore it is our obligation to pass on healthy vineyards to the next generation. In harmony with and out of respect for nature. This concept helps us not only to further develop sustainable management, but also to make progress objectively measurable and verifiable. The goal of conserving resources also includes social and societal aspects. Treating people with respect and paying them fairly is a matter of course for us. We are all working together to bring this philosophy to life.’

‘The locations speak for themselves. You just have to listen carefully.’ This is the philosophy according to which the Dönnhoff winery cultivates its vineyards.
The winery considers itself very fortunate to be able to produce wines from some of the most famous sites on the Nahe.
This task is taken on with joy and responsibility for nature and our homeland. With its ten great vineyards, which are among the best in the region, the winery now enjoys an excellent international reputation for producing great German Rieslings.
