Winery Clemens Busch
The Clemens Busch winery was first mentioned in a document in 1802 and was taken over by Clemens and Rita Busch in 1986, who have been running it according to the criteria of organic and sustainable viticulture ever since. Their son Florian is now also involved in the Clemens Busch winery and is particularly concerned with the biodynamic aspects. The winery is located in Pünderich on the Moselle, where Riesling is grown on 11 hectares of vineyards on slate-rich soils. Each individual parcel is vinified individually in order to bring out the character of the respective terroir.
“For me as a long-standing organic winegrower, it is important to integrate other aspects of sustainable viticulture into my way of working. In addition, the FAIR’N GREEN system means that more and more winegrowers in conventional viticulture will be able to develop in the direction of organic and sustainable working methods in the future.”

Philosophy
The winery’s primary goal is to produce wines of the highest quality and independence. This is to be achieved by treating the environment with respect.
The conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity is an important basis here. Manual work makes it possible to work each vine individually, to select the grapes optimally during the harvest and thus to guarantee healthy grapes. Just as important as the preparatory work in the vineyard is careful vinification. Only through gentle treatment can the full potential of extracts, fruit aromas and mineral components be preserved.
Additives and aids are taboo, mechanical stresses are kept to a minimum and essential movements are coordinated with the phases of the moon. Respekt – this is a group of biodynamic winegrowers for whom this work is both a requirement and an obligation. The winery is delighted to have been a member since 2015.
