Winery Bickel-Stumpf
The Bickel-Stumpf winery in Franconia is something very special: located 20 km south and 15 km north of Würzburg, it combines two outstanding terroirs. Here, two generations of winegrowers work together, by hand and with great respect for nature, exclusively on their own vineyards: ancient top vineyards that are divided between Thüngersheim and Frickenhausen, 35 km up the Main.
Reimund Stumpf and Carmen Bickel brought two winegrowing families together when they married in 1976, which led to the merger of their parents’ wineries a year later. This laid the foundation stone for the Bickel-Stumpf winery.
Matthias and his wife Manuela have since taken over the helm of the winery. With a great deal of love for the craft and respect for the achievements of their ancestors, they now produce moving Silvaner wines with consistency and a down-to-earth approach.

Philosophy
Love of craftsmanship respect for nature: The Bickel-Stumpfs combine two outstanding Franconian terroirs to create a small but fine family winery.
The Bickel-Stumpf winery combines ambience, style and quality with a touch of humility. Because wine is a natural product – and nature is unpredictable. Manuela and Matthias want to take their guests with them and communicate wines competently and honestly. The winegrowing family does not see itself as “loudspeakers”. Perhaps they are even a little subversive: Modest with the highest quality. They do not allow themselves to be corsetted and have their very own ideas.
This includes always reflecting a little in order to continue to grow. Matthias and Manuela both feel rooted in Franconia and want to pass on the feeling of home, origin and respect to their customers through their wines.
