Wilker Winery
The Wilker winery in Pleisweiler-Oberhofen is managed by Jürgen Wilker, who is supported by his family and employees who have been with the business for many years. The foundations of the winery date back to 1597 and many different wines are grown on 43 hectares of vineyards, including Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir, as well as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Dornfelder. The soils lie on barren limestone rock. Where it makes sense, modern technical methods are used to nurture the soil and plants, and where necessary, time-consuming manual labor is not spared.
“Our family and our winery have always lived and worked sustainably. We want to continue to do this together with our employees in the future. FAIR’N GREEN gives us valuable tips and suggestions so that future generations can also benefit from this. At FAIR’N GREEN, we particularly liked the fact that sustainability is not only important when cultivating the vineyards, but throughout the entire winery. We like to let ourselves be scrutinized and always want to improve. Sustainability is important to us not only with regard to environmental aspects in the vineyard, but also with regard to social issues in the working world and the use of resources and energy. FAIR’N GREEN supports us on this path so that we, our employees and our customers know where we stand.”

Philosophy
“The origin of a good wine lies in healthy and ripe grapes.” This is why the Wilker winery cultivates its vineyards with great care and dedication in order to provide the grapes with the best possible environment. A well-considered combination of technical aids and traditional manual work in soil cultivation and plant care characterize the work in the vineyard from day to day.
Care is always taken to ensure that the interaction between man and nature is in the foreground and that the feeling for the cycle of the vines, from flowering in spring to harvest in fall, is omnipresent and determines the actions. According to the Wilker family, this is what makes the profession of winegrower so unique.
