Weinmanufaktur Stuttgart
Weinmanufaktur Stuttgart was founded in 1887 and works with 40 dedicated winegrowers. The winegrowers work according to the principle of “quality over quantity, distinctiveness over quantity”. Weinmanufaktur Stuttgart is run by managing director Saskia Wörthwein. The vineyards cover 95 hectares, on which various grape varieties such as Acolon, Cabernet Franc, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and others are cultivated on heavy, clayey soils. The wine manufactory is one of the most renowned cooperatives in Germany.
“In over 130 years of successful company history, the topic of sustainability has certainly always played an important role. With FAIR’N GREEN, we want to further sharpen our own focus on sustainability and place the topic even more at the center of our attention and our actions. It determines not only how we work in the vineyard, but also how we perceive our corporate responsibility for the environment, climate and society as a whole.”

Philosophy
Around 20 years ago, the winery took the step from “winegrowers’ cooperative” to “wine manufactory”. Back then, this was a commitment to uncompromising quality and the joy of constant change, both internally and externally, which continues to this day. By dispensing with herbicides, sowing seeds and mechanically cultivating the vineyards, it contributes to improving soil life, promoting biodiversity and preserving the cultural landscape, thus making a responsible contribution to a green city. The wine press from 1902 in the center of Untertürkheim is still the company headquarters today. Behind the striking brick façade, the company works hand in hand – from receiving the grapes to vinification and sales – to delight customers with special and sustainably produced wines.
