Weingut Petri

The Petri winery is a family business from Herxheim am Berg in the Palatinate. Mild climate, lots of sunshine, calcareous and mineral-rich soils. Gentle cultivation methods and great respect for nature. This terroir determines the character of the wines.

At 130 to 250 meters above sea level, the vines of the Petri vineyard cover 21 hectares around Herxheim am Berg in the highest locations on the German Wine Route. In the lee of the Haardt Mountains, they produce excellent wine on our south-facing slopes.

Philosophy

Quality is the result of respect for people and nature

Nothing is bent at the Petri winery: Here, the wine is allowed to retain its natural character and people are allowed to be who they are. Nothing is forced, everything is given the time it needs to develop. Wine is produced here with passion, in harmony with nature and in harmony with each other.

The Petri winery is a modern family business. Several generations work together harmoniously to produce wines that meet all requirements. And this means that nothing is artificially accelerated. Time is taken for the wine. Every spring, the winery embarks on a new quest to find the right balance between a restrained approach to winemaking based on high quality standards and one influenced by new knowledge. This is the passion of Weingut Petri.
