The St. Martinus winery was founded in 1986 by Hans Beurskens and is located in the hilly landscape of South Limburg in the Netherlands. Close to the border triangle near Vijlen, the vineyards are cultivated by a team led by oenologist Stan Beurskens. As pioneers in Dutch viticulture, the winery was an early innovator, for example with the vinification of the Netherlands’ first red wine. The winery continues to pursue this approach, in particular by cultivating new grape varieties and composing complex, terroir-driven cuvées. The wines are aged in an 18-meter-deep, modern, and energy-efficient cellar that combines optimal natural conditions with modern cellar technology.
“We joined FAIR’N GREEN because the label independently audits and highlights our holistic sustainability—ecological, social, and economic. It challenges us to continuously improve. At the same time, the exchange within the network provides valuable inspiration and supports innovation, for example in new grape varieties. In this way, we take responsibility and build trust for the future.”

St. Martinus Winery
The winery’s basic philosophy is to work in a deliberately sustainable, natural, and resource-conserving manner. The company is convinced that only healthy, vital soils and an intact ecosystem form the basis for outstanding quality and naturally strengthen the vines. This respect for nature and its resources shapes all decisions—from the vineyard to bottling. Constant efforts are made to improve in all areas in order to produce wines that impress with their quality, longevity, and clear character, authentically bringing the unique regional origin of South Limburg to the glass.
