Mindnich Winery

The Mindnich winery is a small family business at the Nahe. Judith and Klaus Mindnich jointly cultivate 7 hectares of vineyards here. Over 50% of the vineyard area is planted with Riesling. In addition to Riesling, there are also Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Scheurebe, Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer. There are four fundamentally different types of soil in and around Wallhausen: slate, gravel, loess loam and Rotliegendes. Riesling reflects the different soil types particularly well. That is why we grow Riesling on three of these soil types, so that our estate wines produce a variety of aromas. The single-vineyard wines are grown exclusively in the Johannisberg, Felseneck and Steinrossel vineyards. The vines, some of which are over 40 years old, produce particularly mineral wines with their low yields. Our family has been growing wine here for many generations. The old traditional wine-growing methods serve as the basis for our work. However, the incorporation of new knowledge also leads to the constant further development of the business and the quality of the wine.
