Martel stands for a vibrant wine culture, outstanding wine expertise, and first-class service. The Swiss wine merchant operates three locations in St. Gallen and Zurich. Over 50 wine enthusiasts work for the independent family business. The range is unique: more than 3,000 different wines, including rare varieties with illustrious names. For almost 150 years, Martel has been open to new developments in the world of wine – provided they meet its high quality standards.

Martel is the first Swiss wine merchant to be awarded the FAIR’N GREEN Certified Partner status. The company, which operates throughout Switzerland, has been firmly established in St. Gallen for 150 years and is active in cultural, sporting, and social events and institutions. By avoiding chemically produced mineral fertilizers, herbicides, and artificial irrigation, the natural greening of the soil creates the competitive environment we desire for the vines. This allows them to produce aromatic fruits, which we harvest at the right time through multiple, exclusively selective hand-picking.Philosophy

Die Weinhandlung unterstützt ihre Winzerinnen und Winzer sowie die Logistikpartner in deren Bestrebungen zu mehr Nachhaltigkeit. Viele der Mitarbeitenden sind jahrzehntelang im Unternehmen tätig und werden aktiv in ihrer beruflichen Entwicklung gefördert. Martel setzt sich für variable und familienfreundliche Arbeitsmodelle ein. Das Familienunternehmen investiert langfristig. Auf dem Dach des Weinlagers steht eine grosse Solaranlage. Zudem stellt Martel die Fahrzeugflotte auf fossilfreie Antriebe um.
