The Leitz winery has been growing grapes since 1744. Johannes Leitz took over the 2.9-hectare estate himself in 1985. Since then, Johannes Leitz has turned the business into a nationally and internationally successful winery with an impressive 130 hectares (of which around 60 hectares are owned by the company). In addition to Germany, the most important sales markets include Norway, Sweden, England and the USA.
“As winegrowers, we have long been aware that we have to think in terms of generations. Aware of this challenge, we and our team have decided to take on long-term responsibility.
Keywords such as biodiversity, sustainability, maintenance and preservation of the cultural landscape in our terraced steep slopes, renewable energies, electromobility and species protection have long been practiced here.
FAIR’N GREEN gives us the opportunity to present all these points in a measurable and transparent way and to communicate them to the outside world with the sustainability seal.”

The awareness that, as winegrowers, we must manage for future generations has long been an integral part of everyday work and consciousness at the Leitz winery. Taking long-term responsibility is therefore a way of life here.
Keywords such as biodiversity, sustainability, maintenance and preservation of the cultural landscape in the terraced steep slopes, renewable energies, electromobility and species protection are important components of this philosophy.
