Georg Breuer Winery
The Georg Breuer winery was founded in 1880 by Bernhard Scholl and Albert Hillebrand as part of a wine shop and has been owned by the Breuer family since the beginning of the 20th century. Theresa Breuer has been running the winery in Rüdesheim am Rhein since 2004, assisted by Hermann Schmoranz and cellar master Markus Lúnden. The 40 hectares are mainly planted with Riesling, but also Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir, as well as Orléans and Heunisch. Theresa Breuer was named Winemaker of the Year in 2016.
“For us, sustainable work in the vineyard, but also in the social environment with our team, has long been a topic in which we have already taken our first steps! By becoming a member of FAIR’N GREEN, we see an opportunity to put our ideas on the subject into measurable terms and to understand where we stand in the process! Controlled further development often gets lost in our daily work and the topic of sustainability is too important for that! We hope to get to know ourselves better and become better”

Philosophy
The winery ensures that the grapes are as ripe as possible and selects the grapes during the harvest. Healthy berries are essential for taste and fruit. As a result, fruit aromas, balance and body in the wine are more important than prescribed must weights and the inner density is more important than the harvest volume. Only traditional artisanal methods are used in the vinification process and attention is paid to harmony with nature.
The winery believes that its wines are part of cultural life and are therefore entitled to elegant, artistic packaging.
The aesthetic, artistic influence corresponds to the winery’s feeling for the wine.
Conscious of its commitment to the long-term protection of nature, the winery has embarked on a path towards sustainable viticulture that is close to nature. Low yields, softening of the monoculture and seasonal greening are prerequisites for this; the focus is on strengthening the vine and preserving soil life.
