Frey Winery
The Frey vineyard in Denzlingen in Breisgau comprises many vineyards in a special location, sheltered from the winds of the Rhine plain, centrally located and benefiting from the warming valley basins. The vineyards themselves are home to springs that protect the vines from drought and provide a variety of greenery that not only offers a fantastic view, but also habitats for many animals.
The history of the Frey winery dates back to the 15th century, when ancestors migrated from the canton of Aargau via Basel and the Markgräfler Land region to the south of Breisgau as far as Denzlingen. In 1775, they took over the “Ochsen” inn and with it the vocation of winegrowing. Today, the family winery is run by Martin and Barbara Frey, with the active support of their parents Martha and Otto Frey as well as all employees and family members.

Wine production at Weingut Frey is based on the pillars of excellent craftsmanship, a love of experimentation, a passionate relationship with the product and a great deal of patience. However, resource-conserving cultivation also plays an important role in all areas of work. Only by combining all these aspects can outstanding wines be produced.
