Frank Schmidt Winery
The Frank Schmidt winery has been growing wine since 1718. In the 1930s, Beate’s grandparents acquired the farm on which today’s winery stands.
After Frank had gained experience as a trained cellar master in various companies, the winery was founded in 1993. Today, the business is run as an innovative and future-oriented family winery.
The wine experts Frank and David work hand in hand. As a trained cellar master, Frank prefers to work on the ageing of the wines. David is a trained viticultural technician, which is why he can usually be found working in the vineyards. Beate is responsible for sales, dispatch and correspondence with customers and guests.

“A holistic concept has been important to us for many years. In our modern family-run business, we pay attention to the careful use of the resources that nature and the cultural landscape of the Kaiserstuhl provide us with. We also pay particular attention to fair treatment in social, personnel and economic areas of the winery.
In FAIR’N GREEN, we have found a partner who appreciates this and with whom we will be able to take further steps forward and continue to develop.”

Philosophy
The enchanting Kaiserstuhl region is also known as the “Tuscany” of Germany. On the extinct soil of the volcano, the vines of the Frank Schmidt vineyard thrive on fertile loess and volcanic weathered rock.
The wines from the Frank Schmidt winery should taste as beautiful as the landscape. That’s why they do everything possible in the vineyard to produce healthy, fully ripe grapes, while in the cellar the wines are allowed to mature in peace and quiet over a long period of time.
To protect nature, the Frank Schmidt winery has been using organic fertilization and mechanical under-vine cultivation for many years. As often as possible, several machine operations are carried out simultaneously to protect the soil. The sunny hours of the Kaiserstuhl are used to generate energy and hot water.
