Domaines Vinsmoselle
Winegrowing on the Luxembourg Moselle can look back on a long tradition. In 370 AD, the Roman poet Ausonius described how the slopes of the banks of the Moselle were planted with vines.
The Domaines Vinsmoselle cooperative was founded in 1921 and can look back on over a hundred years of tradition. It is also Luxembourg’s largest producer of wine and crémant. More than 170 winegrowers jointly cultivate around 600 hectares of vineyards.
Two different rock formations characterize the wines. Keuper in the area around Schengen and shell limestone in the canton of Grevenmacher. The grapes that grow on Keuper produce full and harmonious wines, whereas the shell limestone tends to produce elegant, racy wines with a lot of finesse. These rock formations allow Domaines Vinsmoselle to achieve harmonious compositions for their wines and crémants.
In 1991, the cooperative was instrumental in the launch of Crémant de Luxembourg. Since then, they have been able to further develop their know-how and now have more than 30 years of experience in crémant production.
Thanks to the spirit of innovation, a sense of tradition and the geographical location of the vineyards, the choice of grape varieties, the composition of the cuvée and the time spent on the lees (up to 40 months), unique crémants are created here.
