Domaine Pfister
Domaine Pfister is a family winery in Dahlenheim, Alsace, which has been run by Mélanie Pfister since 1780, now in its eighth generation. Some of the vineyards that today belong to the Pfister winery were first mentioned in a document by the Abbey of Saint-Michel de Honau in 884 (!). Around 1000 years later, in 1985, the Scharrachberg was classified as a Grand Cru. Riesling, Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris are cultivated on around 10 hectares of vineyards. The soils are marly and calcareous, stony, shallow, contain sandstone sand and rest on a bedrock of hard, fissured limestone.
