Baumgartner Weinbau
The Baumgartner Weinbau winery is located in the largest independent wine-growing village in the canton of Aargau. Tegerfelden is part of the wine-growing region of the Lower Aare Valley and is geographically located between the Aare and Rhine rivers in the Zurzibiet region.
A love of their profession, enjoyment of fine wines, openness to new ideas and the drive for innovation are the daily companions of the family winery team. As self-winegrowers, they produce wines exclusively from their own vineyards. They also offer their skills as a service to hobby and part-time winegrowers and vinify their grapes in their cellar.
A total of ten different grape varieties are grown on around 12.5 hectares of vineyards in the municipalities of Tegerfelden, Ennetbaden/Goldwand, Lengnau, Endingen and Klingnau.
“Our sons want to continue our winery one day. We want to leave them and future generations with intact vineyards. Working sustainably and treating the natural environment with care is therefore extremely important to us.”

Philosophy
For Weingut Baumgartner Weinbau, the production of fine quality wines begins in the vineyard. The selection of the grape variety and its clones, the rootstock and the type of training must be adapted to the available soil and the local microclimate. Ripe and healthy grapes from well-tended vineyards and an appropriate yield are the basis for high-quality wines.
In addition to careful and environmentally friendly integrated production (IP), they select and sort the grapes in the vineyard into quality classes. The different types of wine are then pressed from the individual batches of grapes. This is the beginning of the individual pressing and ageing methods for each wine, which are consistently applied right through to the glass.
The aim of these efforts is to produce varietal, vintage and site-specific, fine quality wines of incomparable character and personal style.
